B16A2 LSD tranny fluid...what do you use/recommend?
Hey guys, its time for me to change the oil in my tranny. I currently have Redline in there but cant find it anywhere and need to change it soon. So dont really want to wait for it to be shipped in. What else can I use that will work best in the B16A2 LSD tranny? Will I need to get some friction modifier (i.e. ford posi modifier)? Any and all input is greatly appreciated. Please note: Brand Name and Weight.
Thanks!

this is a good ? but i was told for my lsd tranny to use gm sencromesh( and yeah i know i spelled it wrong)
I've had 6 differnet LSD transmission in any of my cars at one time or another, and with our other shop cars that have LSD transmissions, always used Honda MTL and have never had any problems with shifting or grinding. Some people recommend some expensive Kaaz gear oil or some other JDM **** (heh) or something else. But if you stick with OEM gear oil, you can't go wrong.
my buddies and myself have been using Honda Automatic Transmission Fluid for years now. A mechanic at the shop where we got our LSDs installed suggested that we try using automatic transmission fluid as it has better lubercants and heat disappating properties than regular oil or manual transmission fluids. we've been using it ever since and have had no problems what-so-ever.

you guys are sure with the Honda MTL? I had purchaced some when I did my swap and had pretty crazy clunking sounds coming from the LSD. Thats when I purchased some redline and she calmed down...
The Honda MTL does not need a friction modifier? it is suitable for LSD? I will try it out again and see what happens. Thanks for all of the replies so far!

depend on what kind of LSD you have. i recommend Neo MTF for gear type lsd. if its a clutch type, Neo MTF + their friction modifier.
