4 wheel disc conversion
I am thinking about buying a complete 4 wheel disc conversion for my 93 CX for about 100 bucks. I just want to know if that is worth it. I am getting everything including shocks and control arms.
About how long would it take to do the conversion?

For 100 bucks, crap yes...and if you don't take it I will. It should take you at least the better part of an afternoon to get all 4 of them swapped out. I would allow 2-3 days to get all of the little stuff you will run into done.

Yeah, cuz if it's from a Racing Metro or Festiva it may not be the best deal.

I'd do it. Can go wrong for $100. I'd try to get the brake balancer, too. Check on the side of the Master Cylinder--there should be a number. If it's the same as the number on the EX/Si, then you don't need that either.
On how long it'll take, it depends on the parts you're buying and what you have to re-use. If you get just the wheel hubs, it may or may not suck to get the Torx (maybe Allen) bolts off the back. If you're getting the whole rear trailing arms, then it could go very fast unless there are other stubborn bolts on the lower control arms. The E-Brake cable can take some time, too.
Either way, if it's the first time you're doing it, and depending on your tools and experience, it should take between 4 hours to a day if it's smooth, and two days max unless it really gets me$$ed up.

make sure you getting all the parts you need
it should come with all the hub assy, and youll need the brake lines and e brake cables. he should sell the whole rear trailing arm assy to you, but just the hubs will work.
also ask if its been in an accident. try to get the master cylinder, power booster, and proportioning valve from a gsr or better. good luck man.

Holy Geez, i dont care if the shocks are blown. I'd take that offer in a sec. I really don't know if I would do the swap though. I was reading facts and opinions last week when I was going to pick one up for cheap. And decided against it. As far as reasons why to do the swap all I could find was ease of maintenence. Drums are bitches to work on compared to disc. Discs weigh more (granted not by a whole lot), and the stopping power is not noticeable from what I hear. The "feel" of the brakes however changes. Just a lil more firm and not so mushy. But I've been using ate super blu and my pedal feel is awesome. Really not tryiing to jack your thread and cause a ruckus. Just telling you to be knowledgeable about what you are buying. Do a search before you put them on, but take that damn offer whether or not you want to.

That may be true, I don't know, but I'm sure there is a lot more aftermarket support for upgraded pads as opposed to shoes. Rotors too. I've never heard of cross-drilled and slotted drums. Besides all that, disks look way tighter behind a nice set of rims.

Thanks. I am getting them from a friend (Maybe thats why they are so cheap) The kid blew the motor and the body was so messed up he didn't want to put money into fixing it so he pulled out the interior and rear disc suspension and junked the shell.
