60,000 miles
I actually have about 66,000 miles on my 2000 Si and need to know what needs to be checked-up and or changed. I plan on changing all fluids soon, but what else needs to be done? What is a valve adjustment, and when so I need it, if at all? Let me know please!

If you dont know what that is, take it to the dealer to do it. I'd hate to see a 60k engine go to waste... no pun intended. just dont want you to f it up for urself
i just passed 60k miles, this is what i did:
change oil / filter
change tranny fluid
change coolant
plugs / wires
distributor cap / rotor
battery terminals (mine were corroded)
check throttle cable tension
check alternator belt tension (i replaced it)
valve adjustment: http://www.c-speedracing.com click on howto. they show how for a b18, d16 is pretty similiar.
also look in your owners manual, or you can find the maintence schedules online somewhere.
get a helms manual if you want to do this stuff yourself. $70 will save you hundreds, or thousands.

i suggest replacing timing belt and water pump at every 60,000 on any honda.
btw, honda will tell you to change timing belt at 60,000

You can do all that, but it really only needs to be inspected and replaced if needed.
3/4 of that stuff you should be able to do your self, if you cant, you dont deserve to have the car.

at 90,000 your supposed to replace your timing belt, but you could stretch it till 100,000 but it'd be close, also your supposed to change all wires, water pump, and altenator
Sorry OT...

how did you check the tension, with a special tool? Or did you measure deflection? If so how hard do you press the belt to measure it? I'm afraid I might go to tight, but right now it is loose...
Thanks!

pull it as tight as you can. you want it to be just past the point of squeaking, which for me was really f-ing tight! i had a friend hold a crowbar while i went and tightened the bolts. after about a week it came loose again. make sure you get those bolts super tight. especially that nut on the bottom.
