Default HID project: E55 AMG projectors into Toyota Matrix headlights

Doesn't it look like it belongs there ?

Ok, I have some issues with light escaping between the reflector and the lens, I guess that I will have to make a shroud. Here are some pics, I have not sealed the headlights back yet, and there are no beam pattern pics yet, as I am powering this off the battery on my integra.

almost complete

Rear of headlight

un modded headlight (will complete that one tomorrow)

Light escaping around the lens, gotta make a shroud

Here are the latest pics. I made a shrould, and painted it black to fix the light leaking between the projector lens, and the projector bowl.

Still powering these off my integra battery . I really need to get one of these portable power thingys

Compared to my JDM HID headlights

This light is from one projector

Nice colour on the garage of the house across the street.

Beam pattern

And thats it, I am officially done (except to swap the headlights into the matrix)

any pics of the shroud? I'm interested in how you made it. does it go inside the projector? kinda like a shield.

No pics of the shroud, I just use a pair of plastic cups that were the right shape. I cut them so that they go around the circumfrence of the projector bowl, and taper to the smaller diameter of the projector lens. I primed them, and painted them black (high temp paint). HID bulb does not run anywhere near as hot as halogen, so there are no concerns about the plastic melting.

Most people use coke cans, or the stainless part of coffee mugs as materials for the shroud
