Coilovers are the best way to go. They will let you lower the car for looks and the set it up different when you want performance. Also, the adjustments can counterbalance any ill-effects from the lowering. Don't just go with lowering springs. I've talk to a few R owners who said adding just springs really messed up the handling of the car.

Well if he JUST GOT IT, He should drive it for awhile and really get used to it in it's natural form. How many miles does it have? Was the sale private or through a dealer?

And the Coilovers are said to be the best way to go. When you mess with its suspension you should have a goal and a good idea where the handeling should be. Thats why I say get used to it for a bit and then research the Coilover kit.

Good luck, I hope he didn't just get it and want to slam the sh*t out of it and slap on some 18" Chrome Things...

I have Neuspeed race springs and high quality camber kits and I really couldn't tell a difference in the handling after I had the car realigned and it got rid of that annoying gap between the fender and the wheel.

Just a pet peeve like Yakko's with the written word.. but our cars come with coilovers from the factory. Specify threaded body coilovers to be more correct. Sorry, that just annoys me, maybe we can have a thread about it like the spelling/grammar one.

Yeah, sorry about that. Sometimes I tend to gravitate toward the vernacular when I shouldn't. I live in a world of complicated equipment with complicated names. Since things in that world are called by their acronym or a shortened name, I sometimes do the same thing here. I'll try to be more specific in the future. Good catch.
