JDM YS1 Tranny Rebuild parts????
I heard that you can use hydro parts in this cable ys1 tranny. Is this true. Can I replace gears and syncros with usdm ITR parts? 3rd and 4th gear are kind of falling apart. Thanks in advance. Rob

Isn't the JDM Ys1 a cable trans? If so, that won't work will it?

ys1 transmissions, which are cable, (92-93 integra vtec & non vtec) do have HYDRO internals. heres a clue.....92-93 integras need big spline clutches, just like 94-up integra.

Thanks for the clue...I wasn't sure what year trans he had since it wasn't said. Another thing about the splines though. I just recently put a clutch in my 94 GS-R and used the same clutch alignment tool I had used on my 90 B16 cable trans. How is that possible? I though the input shaft was supposed to be larger on the 92+ trans?

from my own experience, i can tell you that the hydro 3/4 synchro, shift forks, and selector rings, are much larger than the cable pieces!
