Default might need a new engine...

Well, here's the deal. I went to the shop yesterday because of a knocking/rattling noise coming my the low end of my motor. When the guys first heard it he said, "it's either a rod or a bearing". My friend just through out his main bearing on his 2.2 CL and he had to get a new engine. They told me if there's nothing wrong w/ the crankshaft, then they'll just replace the bearing, but if the crankshaft is fucked, then I need a new engine. But here's my problem. I'm going to have to get a loan from the bank to pay for this so should I just go w/ the $1500 f22 or spend an extra couple thousand and get an h22? I have an auto right now so I'd have to learn how to drive a stick, but that won't be a problem. And I probably won't do too many mods to the h22 if I get it. I found an h22 for $2199 at http://www.hmotorsports.com. Anyone know any other place to get h22s?

or... http://www.ardperformance.com has the bb1 and SiR h22s for $2695.95

I'm confused and don't know what to do

ps.. that bb1 is a front clip (Honda Prelude VTEC (BB1) JDM front clip 200 hp VTEC, 5spd trans, radiator, 1pc headlights with chrome housing. Right Hand Drive dash and steering wheel, front suspension, axles and brakes) and the SiR is just the motor and trans

Get yourself an h22 from hmotors.. they have so much praise throughout the "engine swapping" community. I wouldnt waste my time with a fux0red bottom end on a f22 engine.. they can get costly.. and especially if its a crankshaft problem (yikes). Save a little more money and learn to drive stick before you get made fun of.

Well, my car is an auto and it was my first so I never found it necessary for me to learn to drive a stick. But now I do find it necessary so I will learn. My friend's got an 88 accord that he'll teach me on. But I just wanted to know if it was worth the money for the h22. I talked to the shop today and he said it'd probably run me real close to $4000.
