Engine dilemma
I am having a hard time deciding exactly which engine to go with on my 91 Accord DX Auto. I've owned two 5th gen 'Ludes and would love to do the h22 swap but since this is a low buck daily driver....can't spend the cash to do the h22. I had thought about just going completely stock w/ bolt ons. Either that or I had thought about the F20a. And in either case probably swapping over to a manual trans since I need to replace this one, and I did the swap in my first 97 Prelude it will be no prob in the accord. In any case I need a new engine and trans since they are both trashed. So what should I do?
I need a new engine and trans.. do I....
A) Just stick a F22 and do some bolt-ons w/ a manual trans and keep it as low buck as possible.
or
B) Try out the F20a w/ a manual conversion.
Thanks for any help/suggestions.

With a budget of 750 (I assume thats including the manny conversion) I would just stick with the f22A since they can be bought for about 400-500 bucks versus a f20B (which has high compression 11.0:1 and is obd2
and also puts out about 200 hp
are about 2K). NTM if you want to later add boost to the f22 it generally takes boost pretty well from what I have read on here. Good luck with the project.

I'm starting to think the same thing about sticking w/ the F22. However...the F20A I meant is a 150hp dohc non-vtec w/ 9.5:1 compression. Its going on nippon motors for 450 and its supposed to be a replacement for the f22. Its not much but for relatively the same price....you get a 25hp bump.
What about finding someone that has just recently upgraded to an H22 from an f22b1 then buy that off of them. Im sure someone on here needs to get rid of one. Then you can swap that in and have 145 hp and still have 2.2 liters of displacement. Im not sure of the torque rating for the f20a but I think that the f22b1 might have more with 147 lb ft. Also you might have problems finding parts for the f20. Just a thought
