Default CTR ecu for a jdm itr motor

i'm thinking of getting a CTR ecu for my car. I have a stock JDM ITR motor all wired up and running obd-II. i am currently running a chipped P30.

any benifits of running the CTR ecu? i know the redline is about 8200 where the ITR redline is 8000. would i have any problems?

TIA

not a big enough fuel and ignition curve for the .2l of displacment the ITR has. i wouldn't do it.

I am surprised that your si ecu worked, i have the exact same swap and when we first used my si ecu vtec wouldnt even engage. Just use the P73 that should have come with it. Thats was i use and all works very very well.

yeah the Si ecu worked/works fine. where i got my motor from they couldnt find the p73 with the motor so they gave me a obd-IIa which have different plugs than mine. at the time i figured that i was going to run a obd-1 ecu so i wouldnt need the p73 and i sold it.

the peak power of the motors isnt controled by its ecu, and both has same fuel cuts,
i lent my pct ecu to one of the benen guys for the super tuner battle, and he didnt seem to have any problem with it. the ecu's are almost identical, but i couldnt imagine any true benefits of switching to a ctr.

that comment makes no sense at all.. This is false, I have owned and ran a JDM ITR motor on a SI ECU for over 2 years. Not anly that, dynoed, tuned and it ran fine with proper curve in fuel and power. If you want a differnt change over and fuel cutoff than yeah, change it up.. I would run it over your P30... Talk from experience not guestimating....

different vtec solenoids. single plug on the itr vs two plugs on the 00 si. should throw a check engine light.

USDM 99-00 SI ECU = OBDIIB
USDM 96-98= OBDIIA
JDM P30 = OBD1
JDM 96-98 P73 = OBD1/OBDIIA plugs

I would never run an SI ECU over the P30 obd1. I guess it won't matter much if you have a engine management computer. Just stick with the P73 if you OBDIIA. If your not then go with the P30 or even P28 chipped.

i swapped my Si solenoid over to the ITR

I'm running the CTR ECU, seems to be working great, I did notice that it idles different from the SI ECU, and the fact that it takes a half second longer to start up.

why doesn't it make sense? the ITR motor has more displament and other aspects of the CTR are different from the ITR. i didn't say it wouldn't work i just said i wouldn't do it.
