Default Type S or not?

Hey everyone...i'm looking into getting another car for myself (currently have a '99 Honda CR-V) and am interested in the RSX. My only problem is selecting whether or not i should get the type S or just the basic 5 speed. I don't plan really on making it super fast...just the basic bolt-ons...but mostly more show than go...i know i know...but thats just me.

I guess my decision comes down to either a brand new base 5 speed manual RSX or a used RSX TypeS.

What would you guys choose? and why

Thanks for your opinions/thoughts/suggestions.

thanks for your thoughts though...i really would like having a Type S too...but buying a brand new car seems so much like it's mine..from start to end.

It's worth getting the S anyway, you never know if you might want to go "Go" after you've gone "Show." Never go half way

Go with the S. Even if you just plan on sticking with basic bolt-ons, they will respond better to the K20A2 motor. I was in the same boat as you and ended up with a Base, totally regretting my decision later on down the line. Fortunately the car has been declared totaled due to an accident that wasn't my fault, so now I can go and get that WRX sport wagon I've been wanting

Go with a type S bro, even if you do not plan on going the performance route it's a good car through traffic. You don't need to downshift to many gears just to accelerate around traffic.
Plus in the future you will want to have fun with your car on an open road and get on the gas and the type S is the car for you.
Good Luck.

I'd get the Type-S, mostly because I don't think the premium over a base model is that substantial. Especially with slow sales.

I just realized I don't read well, and was figuring that you were buying either car new. Though, I'd still go for a Type-S. You still might want to look into pricing a new one, like I said, sales are very slow on the RSX right now. You might be able to come close to base msrp.

I have a base but I always want to go faster. The bolt-on for the base just don't do as much. Go for the type if you even think about getting simple performance parts.

yeah, why not the type R? well the S is good and you'll probably get the S now that you got good answers and recomandations on the S...I say get the S or the R, but if you want to go all show then just stick w/ the 5 speed( )

-2003 rsx type-s
-bone stock w/ nuespeed intake
