Default EG cluster something wierd

When i took apart my cluster to install reverse gauges i saw something wierd that was a hassle. When i removed the clear plastic from the cluster it i couldnt get it past the tripometer reset button. I was still able to install the gauges, but now i would like to install a carbon fiber bezel, but wont be able to get it on if i cant get the plastic off or around the tripometer button. Anyone know? I pulled on it a little but didnt want to break it. Anyone else run into this or know what to do? thanks

The little part that sticks out is just a rubber cover, it slides off, pull a little harder, but stiil be careful.
