Default time difference between 16 and 15in rims

How much of a difference would it be if the setup was the same including the rim. one with 15in and one with 16in, how much of a difference would there be?

i believe he's asking the difference in 1/4 times. i believe it would make some sort of difference, although probably very little. the advantage i suppose would be that 15's are lighter and any kinda weight does add up. thats all i can tell you.

It depends on the power of your engine. If you only have 100 hp, you will notice a difference. If you have 200, you won't.

hahahah. funniest thing i've read all day.

15: less weight, shorter final drive = faster
16: more weight, longer final drive = slower
generally speaking of course. some blingin chrome 15s with huge tires will not be equal to some te37s with small tires.

there was a topic in the type r forum about effective horsepower from light wheels. the numbers they calculated, if correct, were actually pretty significant. look it up.

Depends on the rims. How much does the 16 weigh? How much does the 15 weigh? What is the profile on the tires (affects the moment)? Tons of possibilities.

The size of the rim wouldn't affect your final drive if you kept the same aspect ratio with a the tire profile. For instance, a 195/50/15 is very very close to the stock 165/70/13 overall diameter.

Unless you're very good and consistent on the quarter mile, if the rims are both equal in performance (even though the 16 will be a little heavier), they wont effect your quarter mile significantly.

When I went from 16's to 15's my first reaction was...damn those look tiny Then I went for a drive, the difference was awesome...way more responsive (?)

DIdn't have a lot of power with that Civic though.
