Default Removing and replacing rear quarter glass?

Hey, well i will be grabbing another crx, and the rear quarter glass is pretty screwed up, and the trim is shot, so i will pick up the mouldings from honda, but is it hard to replace these? Any tips on doing so. If its a tricky job, how much will a shop charge to just put the glass in, if i supply the mouldings. Thanx for any info.

Piano wire removes windows well and buy some window seal and do it yourself.

Piano wire??? is it just a matter of pushing the window out or what, any tip son using this so called piano wire, or any other wire for that matter? How hard is it to throw back in, and where do i put the sealer?

pay to have it cut out.. even guys with 20 yrs of experiance break glass once and a awhile. otherwise you will want to purchase a window knife either pneumatic or regualr.

I have done it and this is how I do it.
Get one of those retractable knives from Home Depot.
You need the ones with the wide blade, don't bother to use the thin bladed ones.
Get a can of WD-40 as well. You have to work from the inside of the car.
spray oil on to the area where you need to cut and begin slicing the rubber seal.
If it gets too hard to slide the blade, spray more oil.
I have several 1/4 pannel glasses that I removed from crashed out CRX's just in case.

I say pay for both in and out in one shot. they probably would only charge you the same for cutting it out. If it's just to replace the moulding thats what I would do. I had mine put in last week by a pro, there is NO WAY I could have done that good a job myself - those guys have lots of experience and use special primers and good window seal.

Like body work, you have to pay to get things done properly.

You'll probably pay about $60 US.
