Pretty sure there is some type of law or something that says:
"It is illegal to bring a car into the U.S. and sell it without first entering it through Customs. If you purchase a car that was brought into the U.S. and sold without being properly entered through Customs, that car is subject to seizure. NEVER purchase a used car in the U.S. if the owner cannot show that it is currently registered in the U.S. and demonstrate that it conforms to DOT and EPA standards. If purchasing a car from a dealer, they should handle registration for you, if they don't, the purchase should be contingent on your successful registration of the vehicle." - From another web board.

The car has been inspected already. He just does not have the money for the custom fees to take it out. Currently customs has it in storage and charging him. They informed him if he does not take it out by the end of this week they are going to crush the car.....This is what the guy told me last night....so yeah...thats it...

If applicable, for non-registered or unregistered Japanese right-hand-drive vehicles listed, they are for OFF-ROAD USE OR PARTS ONLY, in the US. - I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY TYPE OF VEHICLE REGISTRATION OF ANY IMPORTED JAPANESE VEHICLES IN THE UNITED STATES offered here, unless stated.
