Default Turbo exhaust system, is bigger = better

Hallo,

currently i have a 2.3" exhaust system with a racing cat... maybe i want to change to a bigger one... i.e. 3" or 3.5"

now the question, is bigger = better or do i have some disadvantages when i go with a bigger diameter?

building is no problem...

can someone post some adavantages and disadvantages from a bigger or smaller diameter.

Turbo is a Garret T3 on a B16A Stock engine.

Thanks
Salte.

Bigger is better. It allows the turbo to breathe more freely which creates better spool ups.

yellowturbo is right, you should be fine with at 3" downpipe back... Read this post, it's only 2 pages long and it discusses a pretty decent amount... https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1
