want to check timing, timing marks aren't visible
Hey all. I went to make sure my dizzy was dizzy enough yesterday. I hook up the timing light and shoot the pulley, but the whole front surface is all nasty and coroded. I can't see any timing marks anywhere. Will I get a proper reading if I set cylinder 1 to TDC per the camshaft and mark TDC on the crank pulley? My timing light has an adjuster for advance, so I can set it to 16 or 18 or whatever and time by that.
is there a better way? besides buying an aftermarket pulley with marks already on it :D ?
