about an 8, its pretty straght forward if you know what your doing, you gotta pull out your left axle in order to pull the alternator out from under the car, unbolting the alternator is pretty easy but the only hard part is just having to take out the axle.

i saw more like a 3 or 4 if you know minor things about cars, not car parts but actual understanding about how it works.

It isn't the how it works part that is hard. IT is how much of a pain in the *** pulling an axle is. Got a 32mm 1/2" socket laying around??

its easy if you have the right tool, break loose the axle nut with a 32mm, loosen the lower ball joint with a 17mm, lower bolt of the fork(17mm) that bolts up to the lower control arm and upper bolt of the fork that connects to the strut(14mm), pull out axle from hub(if you can't seem to pull it out because theres not enough room, loosen the outer tie-rod end), pry the axle out from the tranny and pull the whole axle out

Either take the axle out to do it or you can try by takng the intake manifold off, the axle is easier to do, also proven to work, just a safety factor of doing it on the streetside with you being under the car and all.

I seem to recall all I had to do was take out the master brake cylinder to get the alternator out. That was on a Gen 2 coupe.
