I can't remember where I heard it but it was like two weeks for portflow turnaround. Call the guy and ask him.

I chose Topspeed Performance for the following reasons:
- They are local. 5 minute drive for me.
- I know the owner(Josh) and his employee very well. Good friends of mine.
- Fast turn around times, usually less than two weeks. If he is not super busy, you can expect to have your head done within a week.
- Actual dyno results. I have seen before and after plots on my friend's car. Before was 177-178hp and 129tq, and after was 189/138 at the wheels. Head was only milled 15 thousandths, so I know all that gain was NOT from just increasing the compression ratio. Josh's port work is phenomenal.
Anyone interested, let me know.
His prices are also the most "fair" prices I have seen to date. Less than $700.00

I voted for extrude hone, because it's the most thorough process, and from personal experience. I had my Cobra upper & lower intakes extrude honed with a 70mm t/b on my 5.0 and it was a monster. Not to mention a VR6 head that I saw installed on a '95 VR6 GTI (after the extrude/hone process) and with I/H/E that were prebiously installed the car made an additional 37 WHP and 30 ft lbs of torque at peak. And those numbers are hard to dispute. BTW ECP did teh VR6 I'm reffering to, they're in Fort Lee, NJ.
From what I've heard, Extrude Honing a B-Series head doesn't give you nearly as much as a P&P job. But what do I know .....
I had Endyn do my head for my current engine, but I have heard a lot of good things about Josh's port jobs. One of my friends has a ITR motor with a Topspeed head and Spec A's and he is pushing 196 and 137 at the wheels.
I chose Topspeed as well. As a local Floridian I do not like to send **** out to Cali if I don't have to. UPS sucks dick and I know that I can drive down to Topspeed drop my head off, have it done in a resonable time, and then pick it up and see the results. Josh is a great guy and doesn't advertise like crazy to push his name out like some other shops, so he is able to take his time to do each head. At first I was scepticle, until I saw a head that he ported and he has gotten my buisness ever since, as a matter of fact I am probably sending another GSR head to him today to have done.
Topspeed has never flowbenched any of their cylinder heads. The only testing I have seen is on the dynojet and on the street.
That's good enough testing for me.

I feel the same way, no need for technical bullshit, if it makes power on the dyno. CFMs and all that is fine and dandy but what does it land you on the track or on the dyno?
Well the more cfms your head flows the more power your engine will make on the dyno...
Don't you want to see before and after comparisons? The top guys verify the results with flowmeters. Its your money your throwing away. Lots of useful power can be made from the head. Just taking a die grinder and grinding away isn't necessarily gonna make you lots o power.
That is why I asked..

fast94 gsr: do u have any basis for comparison?
I.E.- my b16 head flowed 13cfm before and now after billy bad *** ported it, i have 15000cfm now.
just an example. but no, topspeed has no cfm testing. neither does portflow i dont think.

Just because someone has a flowtester doesn't mean **** either, a lot of people make false claims, they have one guy who has flowtested one of their head back in the day and the use that claim until someone else comes with one higher. If they don't have in house flowbench then is EVERY head that is getting ported tested? Does your boy JBR have a Bench?
I asked if anybody had cfm numbers here, no I don't have any comparisons. This isn't to get all your panties in a wad, I stated the comment to merely verify the results..
Why would you make false claims with a flowmeter?? If you are verifying your results then you know if you are helping or hurting. Hogging out the ports isn't essentially what you want. You want air velocity. Personally I never heard of someone lying about their results..It doesn't make sense, you would only be lying to yourself.
You asked a question naturalvx. " If they don't have in house flowbench then is EVERY head that is getting ported tested? "
Don't think I make sense out of your question.. I think that would be a question for the guy doing the porting not myself..
JBR ISN"t my boy , and yes he has a bench fyi. Do I detect some attitude from you? If you got something to say , say it to my face not on this.

I am saying. A lot of places, flowbench their head. Every head is different, every port job is different, so unless they have an IN HOUSE flowbench to test EVERY head, then whats to say your head is flowing the same CFM as the guy whose they used to make a claim. And as for why would someone lie? This is the import field there are more false claims than actual claims, it's just a matter of decifering the bullshit from the real.
I LIVE HERE IN NAPLES FL, SO I CHECKED OUT TOPSPEED PERFORMANCE LOOKING AT SOME OF THE HEADS JOSH & CHRIS HAVE DONE THESE GUYS REALLY KNOW WHAT QUALITY WORK IS AND THEY HAVE THE DYNO SHEETS TO PROVE THE GAINS ON THERE HEADS I'VE SEEN AS MUCH AS A14 HP GAIN , NOW THOSE ARE RESULTS .
SO IF YOU GUYS ARE REALLY WANTING TO CHECK OUT A GOOD PORT JOB GIVE THEM A CALL .
