Default question on wastegate fitment..

being that i purchased a 4 bolt t3/t04e turbo, im going to go with the MAXREV log style manifold.. These manifolds come with a flange for a 35mm tial wastegate, however i would rather put a 38mm on because im only looking to boost 8-10psi .. now my question is, what would i do about this..the flages wont line up right will they? any advice, or would i be ok with the 35mm gate. TIA

38 fits a 35 flange I believe.

I would try the 35 first though, if it has issues change it.

You should be fine using either 38 or 35. TiAL actually says that the lower you boost the larger your wastegate should be. I'm running a 40mm TiAL, but I'm boosting low numbers with the hopes of boosting higher numbers later.

yea i understand that, but i figure the 38 is the perfect medium for my set up..8-10 psi now 14+ next year on built bottom and no need to change wastegate

Agreed. I just went with the 40mm for the bling factor.

35 and 38 flanges are the same. I know i switched from a 35 to a 38 on that same maxrev manifold.

35mm and 38mm flanges are identical, the only difference is the 38mm has a 38mm diaphram.

if you dont already have the wastegate I would go ahead and get the 38... I have a 35 now and want to change to the 38 hp when I get the change.
