IACV?

Is there anyway to bypass the IACV or will it not do anything if I unplug it? I thought I had bought a manual y8 mani and instead got the auto one and then go through the hassle of drill and tapping it for it and then changing it to a three wire to a two or whatever it is. Besides throwing a CEL will it do anything else that would negatively affect performance? thanks
Just mount your Y8 one to the firewall, as long as it is plugged in, you will not throw a code.
However, turning on the A/C or anything else that draws power from the engine will cause your idle to drop.
So, if you want, you can get a B series throttle body with a IACV attached to it and then you just rewire the 3 wire IACV from your two wires.
If you want to do that there have been quite a few discussions on that and they are easy enough to find if you search for "IACV".

Crap.
Those are a FAJITA PITA.
You may want to just put that thing up for sale and purchase a 96-98 Manual.
Just depends on how much work you want to put into that thing.
