OK so I sold my crashed oem hid headlights to some guy on here. Everything is all good. He paypals the cash to me so I send him the stuff. I sent him detailed pictures of everything before I shipped it. Explained to him how I was packing the stuff. I went way out of my way to make sure he was taken care of. Then three days ago paypal removes the money from my account saying the transaction was "unauthorized".

Well **** that! How the **** does that have anything to do with me? If anyone should be eating this it should be the guy that has the paypal account, not the seller. Something is definitely wrong here and I'm about to contact the police. This **** is ******* shady as hell.

So are you ******* telling me that if I was a legitimate business and sold some **** to this guy, and he used some sort of fraudulent account then I have to eat the loss? What the **** is the world coming to????

I'll post this guys address and info if this isn't resolved by the end of the week. I have frequent flier miles I need to use. I'll find this ****** myself.

That sucks man. I've heard about a lot of transactions like this. Buyer makes payment, gets product, money is retracted.

 

How the **** is this possible? And the guy at paypal had the nerve to say.....Sorry , you might be out on this one man. What the **** is going on?

 

man i'm seriously scared on paypal now which is the most payment i use..with all these retractions and fraudulent transactions i dont think i can trust ebay no more..i dunno.. sent a money order on my last two transactions on ht and so far they've been successful.. i hope you get your money back...

That really sucks Ken. Thing you can do is send him a bill and a letter via sail mail. He still owes you money and has to pay. With that there should be a paper trail. If not take him to small claims court.

 

The people at paypal are ******* stupid. I'm not going to let this **** happen to me. There is no way in hell that I'm eating a 400 dollar loss because some ******* low-life wants to buy **** he can't afford. Who knows how many times this **** has happened with the same buyer. I'm so ******* mad right now............................................... ..AghhHhHH........And damnit honda-tech took away my angry face!!!

 

Did the payment say "clear" after he sent you money? How did he send it (credit, checking account, etc.)? Did you even try to withdraw it before it was labeled "unauthorized"?

 

Yeah the trasaction said completed. It wouldn't have mattered if I withdrew the cash or not. Right now Paypal says I owe them money when I had several hundred in there before this

there are always dishonest folks everywhere u turn. just last week i lost $10 on extra shipping costs for next day air service for a distributor to WA state. the dude says he needed asap so i just went ahead and ship it anyways. he says he would pay me back but he never did. it was just $10 but it's all about the principal.

 

Post the persons name and address it was shipped to. Call the authorities from that local area and get them into it. Its federal also, mail fraud if you shipped out of state.

Use the police, and H-T if needed to find this person.

If he doesn't step up by this weekend and send me my lights or the money I'm going to the police. I don't give a **** if it costs me more money to take this guy down. I'm in cali and he's in cali. If he doesn't say something quick I'm going to drive down there over the weekend.

well that was the mistake by accepting a credit card as payment... which can be retracted at anytime.......

so make sure on your paypal transfer options,, you check the box that says will you do not accept credit card payments and also the one just below it i foget which one it was.......make sure those two boxes are checked.

that way any and all payments are made through a physical bank account. which is much harder and time consuming to retract payment once done.....

never accept a credit card payment ever, no matter who it is....period..because it can be retracted at anytime......

i had the same problem with paypal 2 years ago. yet i still use them cause its the only source of instant payment. is there something else?

I thought with a MO you could keep the stub and use it towards a refund but I'm not sure. Someone want to enlighten me?
