Which would you go for?
Allow me to introduce myself, I am Preston. This is the THIRD time I have registered a screen name on this site. For some reason passwords change and I'm not able to log in. Anyways .... I found these two R's in the area for sale at a local dealer.
- 2000 Type R. PY. 18,636 miles - $18995
and ...
- 2001 Type R. Black. 39,598 miles - $18695
Although the price is almost identical, there is a radical difference in miles, I personally like the black one because it doesn't draw as much attention. But for the same price you are getting way more miles. In any of your opinions, is the black one worth the price it is being sold for?
Any comments would be deeply appreciated, as I'm in the market for a "new" car.
Oh, today is my birthday!!

If you can deal with Phairy Yellow, go for the Phairy Yellow. Get the NHB one if you want the whole stealth thing going for you (not all that stealth if you ask me).
Either way, go take a look at both and have both checked out by someone.

Neither! CW is the only color they "really" come in.
Drive both extensively and get both professionally inspected and get as much history as you can for both (did previous owner race, wrecked, flooded, the list goes on...). Use Honda-tech to see if you can find the previous owners- only if you know what numbers these cars were.

well to be honest I dont think you should not buy the yellow one because of thieves .... they will steal an R no matter what color they want the parts not paint,
as far as the cops you will get what you deserve "drive like an ***, get that buRner street racing ticket"

Thanks for the feedback guys!
Well this weekend I plan on going to the dealer and look around. I will be using my unmolested 1996 Civic DX as a trade in (Almost PERFECT cond). I think I will get (hopefully), whatever can be financed the cheapest
My theory on PY vs. NHB - take the 'Type R' badges off both cars, now the NHB will get some attention just because it has a spoiler and "looks" fast, most people wouldn't give the car a second look, unless they KNEW what it actually is. On the other hand, PY - just like ANY other yellow car, will get attention. It WILL get second looks. I'm not sure about anyone else here ... but when I'm driving, if I see a yellow car I'm ALL OVER IT, most of the time it's a cavalier though
I suppose I'll see what happens. I'm in the market for a new (used) car. I'm a huge fan of Audi A4s, but there isn't a whole lot around here for sale that are worth the money. Thanks guys

lower mileage = more warranty time in case problems arise. Id go with the lower mileage one. PY is obviously easier to spot and can be a pain sometimes, but anyone that knows about an ITR it wouldnt take them much to figure out its an R even though its black, debadged, etc.
