Default Running on 1 cylinder after motor swap

stupid EF is acting up again. 89 Si hatch... did a SOHC ZC swap and put like 100 miles on it. I noticed when cold on start up it had next to no toque and would die if i didnt give it a fair ammount of throttle. After it warmed up, life is good. then one night when i went to move it, it started and idled rough, then when i would floor it, it would pop and backfire through the intake. Now it starts rough and idles/runs on one cylinder. has new plugs, wires, rotor, and cap... WTF could it be???
thanks to all that help me out. Also no Check engine lights either...

leak down and compression test. find out which cylinders are not working. you can also pull the plug wire off one at a time and if there is a change in the motors sound you will know that 1. change in sound the cylinder is firing fine or 2. no change in sound means its not firing.

just curious...have you checked to make sure you put the plug wires in the right order? that would also make the car run very strange...

it is impposible for a 4 cyl motor to run on 1 cylinder. it will idle on 2 cylinders but it will run really rough. it will drive on three cylinders but you have to pump the gas so it wont die.

well maybe its running on 2, but you get the point. It sounds like a briggs 5hp go kart engine at idle, haha. Fireing order is correct, i checked it 5 times. The car ran great for 100 miles, pulled well, idled fine, and drove like a newer motor should. then for no reason it starts this BS with me.... ARg.

Well, thinkin about it now, maybe not all the injectors are firing. I remember a while back when i being an *** becuase i was out of gas, i put some weedwhacker gas in (premixed w/ 2 stroke oil ) and a gallon of 20% nitro Rc car gas i wonder if it clogged any of the injectors....IM gonna go in the garage and thoroughly inspect this POS after im done with my pizza.

Now thinkin back even more, those new plugs i used were two steps colder than stock becuase they were my nitrous plugs for my GSR motor. So um yeah $4.39 and four new plugs later she fired right up!
thanks
