wuduuuuup...i got a turbo kit waitin to be put on, only thing left is the gt32e in the mail, i have a hks ssq welded to my charge piping, can anyone tell me how they sound? or provide a sound clip link to a car that is running one? I'm hoping for lots of bird chirps and high pitch noises, i don't care about the pshhh junk. somebody lemme know!!!

I hate the way mine sounds. I think it sounds like **** . Greddy type S is what I want to get.

 

I love the way my SSQV sounds, sharp and clear and the more pressure it vents the better it sounds. You're gonna love it

i really dont like how it sounds on there. shouldnt there be a whistle with hks ssq bov's? i've heard it on a subaru and it sounds awesome.

 

there is a whistle type sound to it thats more pronounced as the boost goes up.

you can also change the inserts of the hks ssq to make it quieter or louder.

1G DSM , its loud enough and cheap and works wonderful.....why pay 250+ bucks for squeek squeek, aslong as it blows off who cares....

i dont know off hand which insert is the loudest but they are about $10-15 for the replacement. hth

ok ok, there are 3 different inserts, but 2 are the same. the one that comes with it is silver, but is the "tri-fin" style which is their signature bird chirp sound. they also offer a gold insert. the gold one is the exact same as the factory silver one, just in a different color. the purple one is the quiet, low pitch one. it has only short fins on the outside, and a big open circle on the inside.

and thats all there is to it.

 

yea.. its one awesome BOV. I have it, like i said in my last post. This weekend i changed the vaccum line it was on. It used to share vaccum with the wastegate, now it has its own, and what a difference. I love it even more now.

 

It's a tough decision...Type S or SSQ..mmmm

Running 5-6 psi (I know it's low, but that's D-series for ya) which do ya think would sound better?
