Default who rocks a si hatch in this forum?

so, we all know Si hatches are PIGs! i'm tired of getting smoked by my friend's CX hatch with a d15b SOHC VTEC swap all the time. i really want to do a swap in the future, and i'm considering of selling my Si for a CX. it would really suck if i had the same set up as someone else and still get smoked due to the weight i'm lugging. it's like having an extra 2 guys in the car. i <3 my Si! it was a rare find for me considering i live in SoCal. it's just so hard to find a clean hatch around here. also, this may be off topic.. but let's say i drop a ls/vtec or b20/vtec.. would i be able to keep up with CX's equipted with b16's and b18's? are there any Si tuners out there?

Put the antenna down, that would help. J/K!!
I am sure if you did alot of mods to your engine you will beat a CX.
But if the CX has the same it will beat you. Unless the Si is on a diet.
Its what you want. Looks, comfort or go.
All the bling and no go. Thats why I gave my pops my Si!!!

My Si weighed 2110 lbs....only thing out was spare tire, upper part of back seat, and power steering...on 15 inch Spoon SW388's. Oh, and 1/2 tank of gas. They're not that heavy. I ran a 15.5 with the stock Z6 and a ported head, with only intake and exhaust....this was ovr 2 years ago

Keep the EH3

I sold my cherry 1992 Si to build an even better 1992 CX - I never once regretted that decision.

The Si weighed 2289lbs. while the CX weighs 2010lbs.

The CX is gutted of course, while the Si only had the spare removed.

The CX will be lighter regardless though, so even if i put interior back in it I'll bet it'd still only weigh maybe 2070lbs. or so.

That's still 200lbs. difference.

Then again not everyone cars about weight...

Personally, it wouldn't be able weight for me. I love the luxery of pushing a button to roll down my windows or to lock my doors . Of course I have a del Sol but still I wouldn't trade it for the S model.

You can have a 2000 lb. cx, but it's all about sacrifice. They ride totally different. And there is no right or wrong answer as determined so many times before. It's just preference. right now i wish i had a totally stock, heavyass eg not instead of, but alongside the gutted stiff suspension'd ek hatch. Highway driving is murdah.

They are nice cars. I ran 9.8 in the 1/8th with intake, exhuast, and pulley set. Alittle diet too.CF hood, no back seat, spare, tools. It equates to about 15.3-15.4 in the 1/4.

Well what if you're like me and rock a 1992 Si AND a 1992 CX hatchback? Both swapped?

Si:

CX:

I drive both on a daily basis, and let me say that if you don't gut the CX it still rides just as civil as the Si and you can still have power everything such as windows and doorlocks (by addingEx door panels with motors), power steering, and A/C and STILL weigh less than an Si with P/S and A/c removed and non-power windows and doorlocks.

If it's all about the moonroof then yippy! You have no choice but to get the Si, but you can have any power feautres you want to on the lower models and still be lighter.

I love both the Si and CX, but since I had two 1992 Si hatches and I was tired of my pals in CX/Vx and Dx models being quicker with less whp I decided to get serious and build a more serious CX.

I'm not competitive like that any more, but I still never wish I still had my old Si that I sold.

Who is that comment directed at?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i have a stock Z6 and i rape my buddys brand new Civic Si with np... and those things are suppost to be faster. </TD></TR></TABLE>

And that has nothing to do with the topic at hand, does it?

Anyways why do you think your car is quicker than a car with about 145whp compared yo your 110whp or so?

WEIGHT.

The very same reason some people want the base model Civics rather than the Si.
