Not installed. Alot of people dont like to do their own work. I could see it being that much if it came with some basic maintainance stuff. Such as a Timing belt, water pump, clutch + flywheel resurfacing....

I think you should read up on swaps and how they are done, then maybe find a friend who has done one or knows how to do it and try it yourself. If will be a very good learning experience for you. And if you try this and are unable to do it you can always bring it to the shop.

Just my .02 cents

dang man, I wouldn't pay over 1200 for a complete LS swap.

And it should only take 4 hours for a good shop to do a clean and complete swap.

Even at 100 bucks an hour, that's only 400 labor

i doubt a shop will chage 4 hours labor
prob 4 hours taking it out 4 putting it in, just casue YOU can do a swap that fast doesnt mean a shop is going to rush to get it done faster so they can charge you less.

yea that high of a cost in labor sucks. At $100 an hour I wouldn't think it would take them that long..

the price is expensive, but their swaps are clean and legit. tahts all i can say about inline. they are good guys, but like most people say, you get what you pay for.

just like IAS. the price is a little steep, but the engines are great.

good luck bro.

They charge by flat rate hour. It doesn't matter how long it will take them. Flat rate for most swaps is more than 10 hours. So if they do it in 5 minutes or 40 hours you still pay for 10 hours.

That's a little steep, just put the motor in your self. If you have problems doing the wiring, just pay for that. It will be a lot cheaper then paying for the whole install.

that is really high i think! you shouldn't have to pay more than $1200 for teh swap and $400-$600 on an install on that! Look at junkyards for motors and then take it to a shop to get it installed it's much cheaper that way if you dont want to drop it in yourlsef with your buddies.

A couple years back my buddies and I found a B18c1 motor in wrecked integra with only 8,000 miles on it and the guy at the junkyard didnt know too much about the value of it and sold us just the motor and tranny $500 cash

For what its worth...I got my swap (JDM ITR) through inline. And yes I've been told I paid too much, but thats not the point. I feel that when you go to a shop for something like this you're not just paying for the swap itself... You're paying for the service that goes with it, and thats why it is usually more expensive than doing it yourself or taking it to a cheaper (in terms of cost and workmanship) shop.

From my personal experience, the service at inline has been top notch. First off, the swap itself was very clean and has given me no major problems. The only problems Ive had were related to old and faulty parts on my car (92 DX), and they (inline) have still helped me take care of those as well. I personally have nothing but good things to say about inline in terms of the quality of their work and their customer service, and I plan on continuing to back to them for all of my needs...even if i have to pay that extra dollar.

Just my two cents on people saying that inline (and other reputable shops like it) over charge for their work.

i know how they charge i work in an auto garage
its just the way im explaining it.
like we say your water pump is a 2 hour job, so we charge you 2 hours labor, you can pick it up tomorrow
because what we charge isnt how long till its finished. thats how long the job would take if we did it with no breaks non stop, which isnt how most shops can operate

i paid that much, if not a little more for a jdm b16a full swap and labor into my d-series del sol. price was a little higher than expected but got new axles, new dual core radiator, a/c bracket, new o2 sensor, new throw out bearing....

i did not mind paying alot at all, b/c the shop i chose backed the engine up with a 4 month warantee, unlimited miles, and their labor forever. The engine/tranny has been running great and never given me any problems. I haven't serviced anything inside the engine or tranny since the swap which was over a year and 1/2 ago (30,000miles later). most shops or places that sell engines only give a start up warantee, i paid more than the usual shop would charge, but in the end i still have an engine that runs great. theres many horror stories about guys buying engines and a month later they blow up...

so the bottom line is do it yourself if you have some knowledge of how to do it. for one you'll learn, you'll save money, and prolly will even do it faster than the shop b/c most of them don't just work on one car at a time.

dud just buy a GSR and do it yourself, its not that hard, just drain fluids, unlplug some harnesses's, take out the axels and remove the shift linkage, and exhaust, than do it in reverse to pu ta motor in, than have a buddy do some wiring
