Default 91 civic hb std - shocks / alignment?

Hi, I've been searching for lowering springs for my 91 Civic HB (std.) and have decided upon some H&R Sport Springs (about 2" drop). My question is this: do I need to purchase shocks as well? I understand the ride quality will be seriously diminished but just want to know if it will work. Also, I was investigating whether or not I'll need a camber adjustment kit for the front and back... or do the stock front struts (or are they shocks?) adjust on their own to help align the car? Thanks for any help!

The struts are more important than the springs.

If you don't get a matched pair of struts, don't go around talking about how you lowered your car for handling, cuz it's going to handle like absolute crap. It's going to skip and bounce down the road with poor traction. Then the struts will blow out and it will get even worse. No matter what struts you get, with that much drop, you're going to be way out of the stroke range. Eibach has some upper spring perches that fix that up. Either that or try and find some short stroke struts.

I'm curious about the Ryane suspension that lowers the car w/out changing the springs or need for struts.

You will need to get the toe zeroed out by means of an alignment. Right away. You can wear your tires out pretty fast. A lot of shops will refuse to attempt to align a car that low. But you can find a place. If you could add about .5-1 degree camber, that would be good, but not necessary. You'll need an aftermarket kit for that. Less than -2 degrees camber is okay for tire wear as long as the toe is set, despite what the alignment shops will tell you.

yea, i don't want the car to handle like ****. where would you suggest i find short stroke struts? i have seen the eibach spring perches online, so if i go that route, would the struts blow out like you say? can i find short springs for the rear? and what camber kit would you recommend? i have looked around for one but am not having much luck... my brother's gonna be doing the work, so he wants to make sure i can get all the parts together before he dives into it. would he be able to align the car without using a machine? he would probably know this, but better safe than sorry. sorry for all the questions, and thanks for any help.

i have never heard of the ryane suspension you speak of.
