Default electrical short some where need help !!

ok my girl has a 88 crx si , the car wont ever turn on or prim up no lights , not guages come on , but the only thing that comes on it the radio , so i went out an got a new ignition switch and the car came on , primed up but when i went to start every thing went out so im back to where i stared , and i knoe i have a short of sum kind somwere or i could be wrong , all the fuses are good but for som reason i have a gut feeling i dident hook up the battery up rigth whan i move it to the back , but thats cake work for me (since i rebuild motors and naver had a problem wit them) so i dont think its that , can any one help please !!!! ,

If this started after moving the battery, I would start there. Make sure the connections are clean and tight, ground is good, and the battery itself is ok. The electricals dying after trying to start the engine sounds a lot like a bad connection or faulty battery (not just discharged, maybe also bad internally - a cracked plate can cause intermittent problems like this).

yeah if you had short you would have blown fuse and if the fuse didn't blow you would have a fire. Try a different battery, look at the condition of the wires. Also, check the fuel pump relay. Sometimes they go bad and people don't realize it. But before you do that look at the connections and make sure they are getting good contact. If you getting good contact then you can check the relay from that point by seeing if the pump is getting power.
