are all d-series power steering pumps interchangeable?
someone told me mine might be worn out..
what happens is, is sometimes when im driving and turning.. it's as if the powersteering turns off and im using all physical force to crank the wheel..
but sometimes its okay.. is this a sign of a dying power steering pump?

btw.. im not interested in completely disabling my powersteering.

i would think so.

 

i got the same prob on my EG too. at first, i thought my car was too low, then i raised it a bit and still have problems.

 

i'm 90% sure they are the same.
i have a clean, working pump for sale pump of a 96 ex with a d16y8

someone also suggested it may be the pinion and rack??

 

some are not the same. I know that hx civics mount up differently than ex ones. So as long as the mounts are right i am pretty sure you can use a civic/integra one. Also why dont you just take your power steering belt off?
