I was at the Hot Import Nights show this past weekend in San Mateo, and I saw the nicest CARBON FIBER Mugen wing. It bolted to the stock bolt holes with metal brackets, and was only about 4 in. tall. It kinda looked like a touring wing, only A LOT nicer. Does anyone have pictures and/or information on this wing? (no it's not the current wing available from Mugen) I didn't get a chance to talk to the owner, but my friend did. He said he got it through a shop called "JDM Direct". I can't find any info on this shop. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Mugen doesnt make any dc2 CF wings. It was most likely a knock off.

 

In my opinion it would be a waste of money. You're gonna pay out the *** for something that isn't going to make a difference, JUST because it says "Mugen" on it and is made of carbon fiber.

 

I found a pic of it. Is it a real Mugen product?

Actually, that is a copy of a Ferio Mugen wing. A local shop over here carries them for like $250 or something. I was going to pick one up for my DC2 over a year ago. I'm not sure if it uses the STOCK mounting location though.

Boy if that is real carbon fibre, someone went through alot of time and effort to do that and gets blown off by people in an instant.

Yeah it's real CF, pretty decent build. The angle of the wing is adjustable too, for whatever that's worth.

Actually, when you think about it. It's just like the "real" Mugen one, only in a better construction, CFRP rather than FRP which is what Mugen always use. So if I were to put this on a Civic Sedan (Ferio) would it still be rice?

If "rice" is everything everyone says it is, then I guess we are/were all "rice" at some point or another. I guess it'll come to a point where the word "******" is right now. Not cool.

rice? how? its a show car that goes 12.4... has a bone stock ls motor... last time i checked in japan they were pretty nutty about flares... his friends own apr... the wing company... has 2 omp carbon fiber seats in it, blah blah blah...

oh... and how many integras can fit a 10" wheel and make it look right?

edit; dont mean to be so defensive... just the fact that people somtimes jump to the conclusion that something is "rice" so fast

 

We all know rice is what you call something you dont like. It does look like something the riceboys would do, but since i know about JDM trends, i know its a sweet *** ride.

wings on front wheel drive car dont do any good anywayz, none of them..

 

the real functional ones are pretty ugly... like wings that are used on the touring cars on speedvision

 

actually they help keep the rear end under control during braking and turning. I cant remember who has the Yellow R with the Mugen wing, but he swears it steadies the car better under heavy braking. They do something. Just not in the way a RWD car benifits from a spoiler with better traction at high speeds
