then how do naturally aspirated hondas get so quick around here?
is it just because they are light?
currently i drive an avenger v6 auto, but it is heavy, slow, has LOTS of miles, and has verry little aftermarket stuff available for it

well guess what, an avenger v6 auto (all avenger v6's are auto) run at LEAST a 17 stock or modded, unless turbo'd or nitrous is added... avenger/sebring cars are pathetic.

edit

i'm not allowed to make any more posts today so i'm just gonna edit this one

how much does a turbo/supercharger kit cost for these cars? i know almost nothing about hondas, just trying to learn. thanx

fast n/a hondas either have high compression motors or n20. Most of them probably swapped, But you can still build a D series.

Avengers are dogs. My "highly modified" (see sig) EJ2 can take those things all day. So you're comparing berries to dingleberries ...or something.

Because most of them do extensive engine work OR take Integra Motors that have 140-200 HP stock and drop them into their cars

High 16's low 17's for a stock DX...if you picked up a B18 integra motor you could be running anywhere from low 14's with a type R motor to low 15's with an integra LS motor

If you turbo the stock motor you can probably get mid 14's out of it easily

is this a good move? i know its a step down in luxuries, and to be quite frank, i don't think the hondas are as smooth looking as the avengers, but performance wise, they have a lot of potential.

Before you even buy the car.... you need to think about one thing...

What's your goal?

The best way to start is saying "I want to whoop my ex-gf's *** on the track.. so I need 27894380943 hp and 78374837329843 tq"... then you'll figure a way how to achieve that.

Screw the potential of a Honda. Everything has potential. Better reanalyze your goals first.

reanalyze this. avengers have almost NO aftermarket support. i need something that i can make fast, or just is fast, one of the two.
avengers are slow, tha's just the way it is.

See...thats the problem. You need to define "fast." Do you want like, integra GSR fast? Or Mercedes E55 AMG fast...

yeah, if you get a dx tranny, your going to have some loooooong gear ratios...An ex tranny will be quicker.

Look at the ones that are in good shape, buy the cheapest one then build it.

So buy a turbo 2nd gen eclipse...you can make them hella fast and there is a ton of aftermarket support for them.
