only if you have the intent to deceive.... it says that in the law too.

1. put ur car up on 2 jack stands in front
2. Turn on motor
3. Put into gear and accelerate
4. continue until desired reading is in place.

Will the above steps work on a 92-95 cluster?
The reason I ask is because I bought a 92 CX (that has no tach) but the guy gave me a 92-95 SI cluster to install. The SI cluster has less miles than the current cluster in the car and I would like to make the readings the same before installing it. TIA
edit: By above steps I mean the ones from either PhreeStyleHB or capbyrd, not eeJayeiGht

Probably just as legal as rolling a Cx with a GSR motor and not reporting it to DMV or your insurance

yes, the cluster may not look exactly the same but the overall idea is pretty parallel

Yeah, what he said.
There are 4 screws that hold in the speedometer guage into the cluster. Just remove them and swap the gauge into the new cluster with the tach.

did you guys with an EG6 cluster have a problem calibrating it to US spec....meaning like our old clusters were in mph, but now all the "miles" on the odometer are actually kilometers....you get me? should i just record what mph i left off of and start counting in km's? :-p

Yeah pretty much. Just make sure you have records of how many miles you had to begin with and how many KMs you put on it. Do the math and get it back into miles whenever you're worried about it.

I don't think you can do this without switching the guage as well...I was going to do the same but my EX cluster (gauge) with the Si cluster (gauge) (96-00). My car has like 56,xxx on it and the SI cluster has like 55,xxx. I know it is only like a 1,000 or so miles but fraud is fraud.
Does anyone have suggestions on what to do in this case? Should I attempt to do the steps posted above or what? I don't mean to Hi-jack the thread, just don't want to start another thread on the same topic.

Thanks, I think I'll just try switching the guages. Sounds easier and safer.

Damn how many times do people got to say it? Just switch the speedometer/odometer!
Yes, I did it with an EG. DX to EX. It was so embarrassingly easy.
