Who gets the best gas mileage on their civic??? Post here!
Hey guys, post your engine, gas mileage, and average shift points so we can compare gas mileages
I have a 1997D16y7 block (DX) with a 1999 D16y8 head (EX), I run it at about 2.5k shifts to and from school and get about 335 miles to the tank which puts me at about 33 mpg on the highway
Is that a lot or average. Post up!

about 26.5mpg, and i'm on the gas a lot.
Strange to me, but thats what it works out to me......I figured that it would be closer to about 20mpg with the way i drive and what i have done....oh well

MINE IS PRETTY SHITTY
i try to stay conservatitve and shift at 3k.. but i end up gunnin it quite a bit
00 civic si, about 220 miles to a tank . . .

i topped the tank off, and got 347 miles until the light came on. 96 d16y8
i rarely shift below 3k, see the redline every now and then, and downshift all day - sometimes to 6k. i don't break the speed limit by more than 5mph ever though. this is about 80% highway 20% city
i bet if i drove like a grandma and rode neutral all day i could see 400. however, this is with 185-60/14 tires (smaller than stock) so my miles don't count accurately, but i like to think they do

I can get close to 330 or so before my gas light comes on. I'm scared to drive it any lower than that with my Walbro fuel pump (it sits higher in the gas tank and complains when the gas gets low).
EDIT: Last tank it was almost 37 mpg beating the **** out of my boosted y7. Almost 100 percent highway driving though.

These threads are worthless if you're going by the highly inaccurate "miles-per-tank" measurement.
If it's not in miles-per-gallon, then it doesn't mean much of anything. Different Civic models/years can have different-sized fuel tanks, and not everyone fills up their tank at a certain point. I personally never let mine get low enough to trip the "low fuel level" light; when your fuel level is low, condensation can develop in the tank, and you can have starvation problems in corners.
With that said, I get a combined average of around 30 mpg in my stock 2000 Si, with shifts usually at around 3000 RPM. I have seen as low as 12 mpg (all in VTEC at full throttle) and as high as 38 mpg (constant load on the engine, shifts at 2500 RPM.

I got 404 miles out of a tank of gas in my 92 si. But that was on a almost 400 mile round trip.
I dunno if my empty tank light works so I probably could have pushed it further.
On average though I can get abut 330 to a tank with about 150 of those miles on the street.

I don't know if any '92-95 Civics have a low fuel level warning light. I don't recall my '93 EX having one . . . can anybody else confirm this?
