Then skip the Type Flex and go to something that's made a little more for competition and not street use.

Yes. I really like them so far. I've used them for i believe 4 autocrosses, and haven't done any HPDE's with them, but i will be this summer. I've found them to feel very similar to stock but stiffer. But the handling characteristics seem to be the same, very neutral handling and still feels glued to the road. If i up the damping on the rears compared to the fronts i've gotten a nice bit of oversteer tendancy, not much just a tiny bit. I find most who don't recommend them have no experience with them, but rather don't like the spring rates. I couldn't find anyone to give me advice who had experience with them when i was deciding whether to buy mine. I would recommend them if you're not going to be doing a ton of HPDE's abd you want something that will be liveable on the street. If you are gonna be doing lot's of track driving then i'd maybe go with something a little more aggresssive like JIC FLT-A2's or Zeal B6's or even Tein RE's or something.

EDIT: I just noticed you're from Edmonton. I could probably give you a ride in my car this spring if you wanna get somewhat of a feel for how they ride on the street, or you could come for a ride with me at one of the auto-x events as well. Obviously it's not as good as driving them, but should help you a little.

Does anyone know the piston size? I can't seem to find them on the website or the catalog. Done a search. How is the durability?
