Looking to buy a VAFC or Hondata but...
..with an 00 ITR it seems im screwed with my OBDII ecu. I know I have to upgrade to a different ECU no matter what if i go with hondata, but I have also read a post here on the boards regarding VAFC's.
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=760076
"Once you do any substantial fuel adjustments on the V-AFC, your OBD2 ecu will not be too happy. If you get camgears and dyno tune them, it will be miserable, especially in warm weather."
Is this true at all?
I have another question, what all would be required for the ecu conversion if i needed to do one? I know the OBDI, but do I need the OBDII to OBDI harness as well? Anything else i would need?
Right now i rather get a VAFC since im a college student, but if what was in that post was true not sure what I will do
Thanks
Only mod now is intake
plan to do exhaust header cams/camgears within the next 2 months and then higher comp pistons etc..staying n/a

V-AFC with JDM header and AEM intake helped smooth the curve a lot. Got even more fun with Spec B's. This was on a '00 ITR.
Just use a good tuner.
