Default Scratchy noise sounds like its coming from the speedo...

My problem: about a week ago, I noticeda strange noise coming from my speedometer area. It only starts after i hit about 20mph. I have ignored it since it hasnt caused any damage or anything. But it is still annoying as hell My dad thinks it might be the hub on the driver side or something to do with the wheel....I dont think so, but I don't know. Anybody have any suggestions?

Has this ever happened to you or someone you know? Got some remedies for me? Thanks for your help guys!

Replace the cable? Screw that, Ill just lube it up some..LOL. Im sick of buying **** to fix this car. lol. Its the nicest car (best condition) i own yet it feels like a beater. I just had to replace the clutch cable not too long ago, and since then I blew 3 tires....maybe I just have bad luck...

PS: NEVER buy low-pro's

My hatch started doing this so I was going to pull the cluster cover off this week when it gets warm and find the noise cause it pisses me off.

My speedo did the same thing after I wrapped the speedo all the way past 125. It started to go crazy and around 20mph or so it would make this loud scratchy sound. I got home took out the gauge cluster, checked the speedo cable and put it back in. Noise went away.. Maybe yours is loose?

I have a similar problem but mine doesn't make the scratching/buzzing noise in relation to wheel speed, just engine speed.

DOes your car make this noise when you free-rev the motor?
