A 2001 GSR in 4th gear at 8000 RPM does 120 MPH

Anyone ever wind out 5th gear? What's the top speed of a '01 GSR?

who knows the tach is so inaccurate anyways at that speeed
its fast enough

 

Hope that was on the Autobahn. Top speed is probably drag limited. You don't need to go that fast anyway. Good way to end up in the pokey!

I'm pretty sure a speed limiter kicked in on my '00 GS-R at 130MPH.

That was on a nice flat, straight section of US 23 North between Toledo, OH and Ann Arbor, MI.

And yes, that was a while ago, no I don't drive like that anymore.

$180/month is enough for car insurance.

 

i hit somewhere like 155-160 with a gsr tranny at around 8000rpm and it was still pulling... granted i dont have a gsr... just the motor and tranny
