A n00b with a question!
Hey everyone, I have a question...
I am stuck driving a Kia Rio right now and I have finally had enough of it and I am planning on FINALLY getting the CRX that I have always wanted! I have a dumb question for all you pros.. I want a 91, what would reasonable mileage on one be? I am trying to find one to buy right now and I am having trouble finding out if I am gonna be getting a good deal or not. Is there anything besides mileage that I should be concerned about when looking for my new baby?
Thanks!

my 90 CRX had 125,xxx on the motor, but was running on 3 cylinders and no clutch. It also has rust on the rear wheels. Dont' get a CRX with rust...you'll regret it later on. oh, and i paid 800 for mine.
-100k-150k
-no rust, that means underside as well
-maintenance records
-clean interior
-functonal roof and other electronics
-check under the hood for leaks, oil level, oil cleanliness
-make sure any replaced parts are factory honda and not napa crapa
expect to pay $2400-$3600. thats for an Si.

i wouldnt expect to find a crx in a delership, let alone any car that is 14 years old, just look in the paper, thats where youll find a good deal.
i paid 900, for my 1990 civic si, it has 200k miles on it, but a little rust on the back panels by the tires.

Always better to find private.
check real good for rust around door jambs, inner fenders, rear 1/4's, under mouldings and under the car.
Check the door checker( the silver rod that keeps the door from opening to far) if that is torn the door will make a loud pop when you open it and it is next to impossible to properly fix.
Make sure the unibody is straight.
Anything else can be easily fixed.

my 90 had 104,000 miles on it when i bought it, no rust at all, i paid $2500. Im sure you can find some pretty rad deals out there. look in the autoshoppers and autotrader its how i found mine. I wouldnt go to the dealerships, the ones ive seen are well over 200k or are automatics if you dont mind either of those then you should have no problems. either way good luck with the new rex
