Default Fuel pressure regulators...Stock GSR VS Aeromotive..., and GE fuel rail ?'s...

I'm still kinda undecided which regulator I should use.

I'm going to be using the GE fuel rail with either the stock GSR regualator or the aeromotive 1:1. I'm looking for around 500whp max.

Will the stock GSR sufice? or should I go all out with the aeromotive? I would like to use the stock GSR if possible, and save the $130.

also...

What size fittings does the GE fuel rail utilize? I would like to get a 8an inlet fitting, and then (If I use the aeromotive) just a straight NPT fitting to attach the regulator right off the rail.

Thanks!
Bryson

Art posted this a long time ago, he has the Aeromotive regulator with an aem rail.
But all of the fittings and lines are gona be the same accept for maybe the stock fuel filter.

The inner bore of the G.E. fuel rail is a -8. I bought it then had a -8 to -6 adapter to go onto my Aeromotive FPR. I would think your stocker would be alright though. Here's mine, it'll go in right before the Hondata does . . .

Awsome...Yeah, thats exactly how I would like to mount the aeromotive (if I need it). Now are the fittings for the rail 8an...or is it NPT?

thanks!

Ive heard of more problems w/ the aftermarket regulators then the stock ones. (like inconsistant fuel pressures) They do look cool though haha. and they help complete the lines through the engine bay.

Huh. I've never seen anyone have problems with the aeromotive...but I do think the stocker will be fine for me. Whats more important I would think, would be a good fuel pump/rail/injectors, and most of all tuning.

the size of the hole depends on which model you have, GE made three different types -6, -8, -10. im going to be using the same setup but i have a -10 instead of a -8

It happened on my friends car where he set the fuel pressure @ 45psi and a week later it was idling at 35psi. I dont remember what kinda regulator it was though.

Probably a B&M bro . . . . I just refuse to beleive that I bought my Aero FPR as a ricer engine accessory . As for the rail this is from G.E.s site . . . -Precision CNC machined from 6061T6 billet aluminum
11/16” ( .6875 ) fuel bore for maximum fuel delivery on street or full race alcohol burning engines
- -8AN O-ring ( Boss ) ports provide huge flow capability
-Utilizes two ( 2 ) 1/8 NPT ( pipe ) ports for fuel pressure gauge or fuel pressure sending unit. Also comes with two
( 2 ) 1/8” NPT plugs
-Allows use of stock fuel pressure regulator
Comes with stock Banjo fitting adapter and plug for “bolt-on” applications
-Optional fittings:
- -6 AN fitting Part# GAN100-6
- -8 AN fitting Part# GAN100-8
- -10 AN fitting Part# GAN100-10

ive had an 3 different aeromotive FPR and they all did something similar to what your describing...what i did was let the car warm up good then set the static FP to 43-45psi at idle...then it was consistant.

My Aeromotive dropped to like 20psi and I thought the Diaphram was busted...but then I noticed the gas-tank was almost empty...needle is off.

I have a B&M and i'm about to throw that **** out. i never had a problem with it in the summer but now it's giving me shitty as gas mileage. i set it to 42 psi every monday and on wednesdays it's at 50 psi!! makes my car bog like a **** when i'm driving since i'm probably running too rich. and every now and then it would also trigger up a CEL...i forgot which one but all i can remember is it's a "faulty fuel system" CEL. i always have to shut the car off while driving with foot on clutch and in gear and turn the key back and let go of the clutch to reset CEL. it gets annoying after awhile.

Static = car running with vacuum hose disconnected, correct?

"U have me intreiged..."

I wouldn't mention something if it wasn't true. anyways, a couple others already vouched that they have had the same thing happen. At least thats proof that i didn't pull it from thin air, if your thinking that.

The outlet on the GE rail is a -8AN o-ring boss. I used a -8AN o-ring to a -6AN (to the FPR) etup..
