Many will agree that the Philips HID kit is the best for it's price. Be prepared to pay upwards of $450 for this kit.

Default Xenon HID Which is the best??

Installation is a snap, literally. You take out the low beam bulbs. Put in the High Intensity Discharge bulbs, and mount the ballasts someplace that won't get in the way of any moving parts. Takes 10 to 15 minutes to install, and that's being generous.

Here are some pics to see how I did it...

Are the HID lights any hotter? Will they crack the lenses on our small integra headlamps? Nice clean install, looks good!

Default H.I.D. lights and heat.

No, the lights are not hotter than usual. They won't crack or melt the lenses of our integras. Everything should be fine.

The only thing will be a little different is that you have to upgrade/replace your fuses for your low beam lights. I believe the car comes with 10 amp fuses for the low beams. When you upgrade your system to H.I.D. lights (+ ballasts), you have to upgrade/replace the stock 10 amp fuses with 15 or 20 amp fuses. I am currently running 20 amp fuses, and have had no problems.

You should be fine just upgrading to 15A.

yeah first complaint I have heard.
if you want purple nurple bulbs, I guess.... get Osrams?
Personally, I think the light is VERY white. it may look yellowish in a few pics, but in person, its WHITE on the road and also has that twinkle as you walk from one side of the car to the other. It twinkles from blue to white to yellowish-white to purple, pretty cool yet very functional since it really puts out a lot more light in the same beam pattern as stock. NICE.

Hey I put them on my 1994 GSR and the ABS system has no flat side to it for mounting, so I went to the hardware store and bought a metal bracket for wall mounting a lightswitch thingie, and made a bracket out of that to mount the passenger side ballast. I attached the boxes legs to the car using a tab that stuck out on the bottom edge about an inch each end, and put that piece under the AEM CAI mount and the other end under the AC line bracket mount a few inches towards the back of the car from the AEM CAI mount. this is in line with the ABS unit, the side facing the motor. okay here is a shitty pic----->

Yes, I do actually. The philips bulb will turn whiter and more bluish once you "break them in". I have had the Philips for quite a while now, and now my light actually looks very white and OEM look.

I've never seen them in person, but Tony's look really good. The other pic posted did look a liitle yellowish.

On my '95 GS-R, I put the ballast underneath teh ABS pump by removing a couple of bolts and then rotating the whole ABS unit/bracket up. I used velcro to secure it.

Velcro? Won't come off because of the heat in the engine and vibration from driving?

Default Yes...

From the pics that I posted earlier, the light does look yellow. But that is from straight on, with the camera correcting for light intensity. And yes, I understand that the Integra light housing was meant for Halogen bulbs. But overall, the H.I.D.'s provide much more bright white light than stock.

If you talk with people that drive a BMW, Lexus, Audi, etc...they will tell you that from inside their car, the light they see is not "purple". It is just bright white. Sakani, maybe you had a bad experience with H.I.D.'s, but I love mine.

whats the deal with that dark line on the ground, coming from the drivers side light? I was also wondering if anyone has a picture of what the beam looks like on a wall, with the car parked about 5-10 feet from it.

there has to be a way to go to a junkyard and find some HID's and make them fit somehow. Im sure more than one person has done it.

Do the ballast units for the BMW's etc plug into the 9006 headlight socket or do they have to be switched?

Oh you can use a kit from another car i.e. BMW, Lexus, MB etc.. very easy stuff. My friend with an Accord just installed some HID's from a MB S500, quick and painless, looks beautiful and DAMN bright. Only problem is, the light housing wasn't designed to refract that kind of light (these bulbs were designed to work in light housing that emmit light directly forward while the Honda light housing uses a little "cup" infront of the bulb to direct the light backwards and bounce off the housing) so he has somewhat of an uncontrolable beam. It creats a huge "cone" of light rather than a slimmer beam so he really has to do some tweaking there, but they sure as hell are bright!
