Default Open Track Day at Portland International Raceway

I'm trying to setup a track day that would include high performance
street cars, sometime this year, most likely mid October.
It would include but not limited to

All Trac's, Supra's, DSM's, WRX's, M3's, S2000's, MR2's, S4's, RX7/8's,
350Z's, Boxers, 911's...etc.

We'll even include transponders in order to give actual lap times.

Interested in seeing how your car would stack up?

We will be looking at 60 cars maximum, at $150 dollar per car.

Be forewarned, once you've attended one of these track days, getting
the stupid grin off your face is your problem.

Let me know.

October is kind of late Bill, but I'm sure if you build, they will come.

A number of us here have a PNW get-together late in the season at PIR. I think this year will be the 3rd annual. It gives us a chance to have a play day to end the season.

The Alpha's have the track on October 1st. My guess is that most of the under-powered Honda/Acura race and street cars will be at that one...

I know, but right now, its the best we can do. The track is book fairly well solid from March till November.

If this turns out good, we might be willing to move our April race to incorporate something like this next year.

I'm just trying to get a feel for interest from the Honda side, I've gotten plenty of interest from the DSM, WRX, MR2, and All Trac guys. I still need to talk with the M3, 911, 350z, RX7, S4 clubs, and our local speedshops.

We figure that this area is loaded with plenty of street racers who love a shot at a track day just like this.

I don't see CRX's on that list, so I guess...

...I'm saving up for this one!! Perfect time to give myself a birthday present.

Quick NOOB-type question... When you say "open track day", does that mean throw your money down and go out on the track solo even if you've never had an HPDE?

Not exactly. You'll run in the novice group and have someone from our group ride with you and show you around. If you do well and keep your head on straight, you'll probably go solo. Greg & Scott are good ones to have in your car. We'll take care of you.

If this is the group you are targeting for attendance. You've posted in the wrong place on HT. This is the people that spend their time on the track, street racing isn't usually in their bag of tricks.

I'm not targeting anyone in particular for this meet. I'm just giving you guys the opportunity to attend, if you've taken a previous drivers course. Nothing more nothing less.

I already have plenty of DSM, All Trac, MR2, and WRX members very interested, and I only have 60 spots. I would love to see a few Honda's on the track as well.
