putting a 900 motor on my 600?????????
who has done the conversion on there bike? i have a 2001 600 f4i and want to put a 900 motor on it. is this possable and what all is needed to do this?
You would have to fabricate a kit, none of the 900 motors would just bolt right up....And the 900 motors use carbs, so I'm not even sure that motor would fit on that frame....
I have seen it done before. If you are doing it to save weight then look at somthing else, the opne I had seen had a total weight savings of under 10Lbs. And the 900's chassie is much stuffer and designed for the Hp and Torque.
heres an f2 with a 900rr motor

yea i see people doing it all the time with the older f2's and f3's. i also see it alot with the old 750's putting 1100 motors in. i dont know if i am going to try to do it if it will be to much work i just wanted to see it i could do it cause i had a guy give me a good deal on a 900 motor and tranny and i was going to get it if it could be done.
just my opinion but that f2 frame on the link above dosent look near as strong as the one on my 98 750. i would take a close look at the 900 frame im sure its much stronger

7/11 swaps were easy, it was almost just a direct swap a cbr 600/900 is not quite a bit more fabracation. But almost anything can be done with enought time and money, if lee can shoe horn a busa motor into a GSXR 600 frame. The frame in the ebay bike it toasted, it will never be right and the cast aluminum motor mount that broke off the engine can't be repaired right. You can weld cast aluminum for those applications.
