I know by now that many of us have read that the s2k final drive is a mazda part and can be had through kia dealerships for about 1/2 of the name brand sources... $300 is pretty cheap for a final.

My question is whether such things as a close ratio 3/4/5 gearset and 4.7 or 4.9 final can be had through similar sources for a cheap price like that.....

Has anyone investigated to see if that's possible?

With the $ saved, we could get the parts cryo treated, etc... and still have $ left over for other goodies.....

Thoughts?

 

SRR FDs seem to be half the cost of other fd's (4.9 atleast)

The ATS FD is already heat treated & shot peened, don't know about the others.

.....is their 3,4,5, gearset also heat treated and shot peened?
