Hey guys,

I have been trying to sell this CRX of mine... but no dice. I think the price is right. The condition is good... What am I missing I am hardcore bummed because I have to sell the CRX to pay my last tution bill so I can graduate

Just my opinion, the car may be a bit too ricey for many on this board. I think alot of guys here would rather start out with a totally stock car and do their own work. I'm not saying that your car is ugly or anything, it does look ok. I'm not to keen on the side window mod, but to each their own. I'm sure that there is someone out there who will agree with your style. Have you tried other online classifieds?

 

When putting the add in cars.com put it under civic, because there are not that many crx's, well in my parts any way. So I figure if it’s under civic at least many people will see it, just a thought. I really like your car though. I’m not trying to be a hater, but the only things I’m not digging are the 17 inch rims and the clears in the back. But I really like the color, and the kit and the rest of the stuff you have done with it. GOOD LUCK in selling your car. It will make some one happy!

Yeah, I fixed the tails... just forgot to get pics before I put it up for the winter. I actually got the car on a trade for my old hatch with b16 swap. I got this car just like in the pic with but with a b16 in it too. I really did not like the windows, made it a bitch to drive... I'd rather see 15" Rota or Buddy Club wheels on it too.. thats half the reason I am selling it.

I never thought about putting it under civic...

Any idea on value?

since your in new york. i think you should stress that its a rust free CRX. lots of pictures is a good selling strategy also. i think you should organize you mods list also because i could not follow it at all (maybe it has something to do with my brain right now) also take a picture of the spotless interior your including with it because i remember reading about it but not seeing it. 4000 is a high asking price for a 1988 car. i think you should lower it a bit. figure out what you absoloutley MUST sell it for and ask 700 dollars more. then when someone tries to talk you down. take 200 dollars off and mention that it comes with a whole new interior. post it on anywhere you can. craigslist.org sromagazine.com has an alright classifieds but it moves SLOW i think its more of a CA bay area site though. just ***** the car out all over the internet and it will be sold in no time. good luck

BTW: i like your ad in cars.com more than the HT one. i bet thats where youll sell it. and dont waste your money with a for sale sign. email and the internet is key now adays

 

First off you put your ad in the wrong place...No one on Honda-Tech is going to pay 4000.00 for a CRX...Why you ask? Cause everyone here is broke as **** they should name this Broke-Tech.com....Nah really most guys on this board would rather buy a rolling shell or beater car and do all the work themselves this is a board full of tuners(Well most of them anyways), oh yeah and flakers too....Your best bet is to advertise it on E-bay, youll get way more out of it on Ebay than on this board....But anyways Good Luck with your sale and bump for a clean looking CRX

poor thing looks like it wants to be a del sol with those side windows. have you tried auctioning it on ebay with a reserve? good luck.

A stock, riced out HF. I agree.

Usually if you have any modifications on a car, you will not get what you put into it. Maybe try lowering your price i guess.

 

I were that crx I would be crying... not to bash but the rear quarter window's shaved on a rex look horrific, that's one of the reason's that no one want's it I bet.

 

What if I lowered it to $3000?

I too hate the windows... thats is half the reason for the sale.

LOL, more like an Insight.

I think it looks pretty clean. You should be able to bring around $3,000 on ebay. Maybe more if you re-write your description better. More pics also. Take a picture of every angle of that car and you will have more people interested in the car. Interior, Exterior, Engine bay, etc...

LOL... I was thinking of a clay bar detail for the hatch... nothing big (yeah, I really have to pay the school... but less than 4k ) for mods... I do need wheels and tires...

As far as the windows go: The glass was removed, and a sheet metal piece in the same shape as the window was welded in. Then fiberall/bondo... sand, bondo, repeat... paint the out side. As far as what you can see from the inside is just the backside of the sheet metal... the welds are concealed by the interior trim.

All the body work was 4k (i didnot pay it... it was from the previous owner)... but that included the WW kit, the molding on the kit, windows and getting the door poppers installed. A straight EBP paint done with expert prep and whatnot should be around 1500-2000 in my area.

Good job selling it, just make sure you pay off your debts before any thing else.
