Ok I just put a 2000 Si engine into a 96 hatch and it started perfectly. The battery was really weak and just changed it and now it wont start. I put a new positive battery cable on it and it still is dead. All the lights come on in the dash so I know it isnt the igniton switch. Any ideas? I need help badly. It just doesnt make sense that it started perfectly on the weak battery and now I swapped it out and the motor wont even turn over. HELP?!?

 

double check your grounds, throw a battery charger on just to make sure its charged. It doesn't take much to light up your dash

 

I checked my grounds and they seem ok. The car did start with no problems before. The car wont turn over even with a jumpstart.

 

first of all u didnt mention if the starter is even cranking the engine, do u hear it??? if not its most likely the wires goin to that.

if its not cranking check for spark. need more info man

 

its not cranking at all. I turn key and nothing happens. All my dash lights work just perfect, headlights everything it just wont turn over anymore. Weird thing is that it turned over just fine before I changed the battery and now it wont start on new battery. It wont turn over at all, no clicks, starter doesnt engage.

 

try removing the starter than installing it again. its happened to me before.

 

Ok I tried that but still no go.

 

Anyone have any ideas?

 

it is a fuse or relay in the ignition circuit happened to me and a friend becuase i was stupid and never disconnect the battery during radio installs. just bypass everything and us a jumper wire off of the ignition wire under the steering colum if it starts it the iginition if not check back i may have other ideas but prety sure that is what it is
