Default TURBO SET UP HELP -- Any suggestions are welcome!

I have a b18c1 block on its way but i have a friend that might trade me for a b18b. I was wondering if i decided to go LS/Vtec and turbo charge it, what turbo set up shoud i do?? Custom kit or go with a Pre-Made kit? any mods to the block it self? a list of things to do and get would be appreciated!

Why not keep the B18c1 block?

everyone will tell you to first set your goals. do you want a track 1000hp monster or a normal dormal 200-300whp street car thats reliable. address your goals first then everyone will jump in.

but i suggest you piece your own kit together, it takes more time and patience but it ended up saving me over $1000 and i got better pieces of the puzzle.

...and keep the b18c

My goals arent anything too special.. i'm just wanting a set up that will be reliable for daily driving, but fast. Anything in the 250 hp range would be great, but anything over 300 is just out of the picture for my price range!

the person who wishes to trade with you is not a friend, commerically the B18B is worth a third of the B18C in the open market. B18B is a good basis to start with as I consider it a disposable motor. LS vtec has excellent advantages, but you would be able to pick up an LS block for cheap.

if you're only looking to be in the 250hp range, trade the block + cash (on his part) and use it for turbo money the ls motor is definately capable of 250+ reliably and daily beaten

Someone correct me if I am wrong but isnt the head of the B18C where the money is at? Wouldnt bare blocks be of equal value?

Personally I would keep the GSR block and piece together a kit. You will save SOOO much money by piecing together. You can find awesome deals around here all the time
