I just did a search and could not find what I was looking for. I was wondering if anyone in here could tell me if there is a way to determine if a PM6 ECU is a auto or manual by physically looking at it or under the cover?? I don't have a clue! Any help would be great. I have a couple here I would like to sell but I don't want to sell the wrong thing to someone. Thanks

 

plug it in, if it throws a code for auto tranny lockup selnoid then it's a auto.... wait a auto PM6 is called a PS9

 

so if it says XXXXX-PS9-XXXX then it's a auto

open the cover and if it has components that trace back from pin A8 (especially the hard-to-miss transistor at Q42 in the upper left corner near the plugs) to the processor then it is an auto. I'm pretty sure not all auto PM6s were PS9s (maybe in the US they were).
