Default Fuel consumtion

Hello everybody,

I have recently bought 5g Civic with D16Z6 engine, and I'm having huge fuel consumtion. Can enyone tell me which should be regular consumption in urban conditions and/or on the road?
I have measured 14,3 l/100km with quite agressive ride, and reving untill 7.000 revs, but still I think that it is too much for this engine.
On the other side engine works very fine (and accelerate well), and I have just done complete service (oil, filter, sparks changed etc.).
Does anybody know what should I do to fix this (if that is abnormal in the first place)?

try replacing the fuel filter and remove your injectors and clean them out. my theory would be that if either one is clogged the computer will recognize that the engine is not getting enough fuel therefore making the fuel pump work more to deliver more fuel, it wont hurt and consider it as preemptive maintenance. it should only take like 35-40 minutes to do these things

dont rev it to 7000rpm all the time when you drive. high RPM's require more gas and your redlining it all the time it sounds like.

...and your hitting vtec everytime you go past 5500rpm <--- HUGE fuel consumption.

I did change fuel filter, and I have checked out injectors as well.
What I have realize in meanwhile is that my lambda sonda is not working properly.
All right, I know, you all gonna say - that is the problem, but I had previous model of civic (1991), with D16A6 (SOHC, 16V) engine, and in one period I was also driving with defected sonda, but fuel consumtion was below 10 l (increased for only 10%), with the same type of ride!
So, my guess is: lambda sonda changes the consumtion but not in such a radical way (we are talking about 50% increase!).
Does anybody has the same engine to tell me which should be regular consupmtion at 140 km/h (87,5 mph)?

keep the revs down and that will help... also if it's cold where you are that affects fuel economy. Just take it easy in the winter and rip it in the summer!
