no... not at all.
no... not at all.
actually it works nicely.... taco bell cup fits in there, and u can open the ashtray still partially to sit on top of the drink to hold it down
if u want to have the straw in, u put it on the right side so the sraw goes up in the gap by the lighter... it works out NICE...

does anyone have a part number?
i had that part on my wifes old 96 civic.. it does bolt right up and it is an oem honda part.. and better yet i got it from that pokom people.. cig lighter plugs right in and everything ... only bad thing is that you lose height clearance on drinks .. like a standard 20oz soft drink will not sit in the cup holder after putting that peice on.. but it is cool...

not sure, that was in there when i bought it too... i think its an optional part... or get one from an Si, i'm sure it'll bolt up.
oh, found it here...
go to majestic honda...
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com
on the left, click HONDA ACCESSORIES
MODEL: Civic
YEAR: 96-2000 (you can put it any year)
TRIM LEVEL: CX or DX, 2DR, 3DR, 4DR, whatever.
SYSTEM/COMPONENT: ACCESSORIES - INTERIOR
ARMREST*
it shows the 2000 is more expensive then the 1999, but not sure if there's a structural difference.... so don't ask
hope this helps.

chances are it won't be in stock, and when u return there's normally a restocking fee, by the time u do that, you're better off just keeping the one u bought from the dealership unless its like $500.
but test fitting is key, don't wanna buy something and not be able to use it, good luck.

I have actually done this a few times, and they have yet to charge me a restocking fee.
Maybe we can get someone to confirm that it is the 99-00 Armrest that fits.

the US optional one is the same as the JDM one...that is what he was stating. The one that comes in the US cars without the optional ashtray is the power supply and two screws
He was saying that you could just go to your local honda dealer and order it, and don't order it for the "JDM Bling" when it is not JDM!
