Well Last October I went out to Phrump AZ. with a friend who was a instructor on a mostly VW event. Inface I was the only Civic There and The only other Honda there was a S2000 an other instructor's car. 1/2 of the cars there were GTI's and a bunch of newer mini coopers. I had a total blast and learned alot as well!!! I had my friend instructor and another instructor drive my car with me in it. WOW I had no idea how far it could be puched to it's limits until you have someone who has been dooing this for along time. I was white knuckeled all the way!!! hehehe !!!
Anyway here are a few cpoies of the photos I had printed and a little infromation on my Civic.

Specs: 1998 Civic DX
B16B
Tein Flex
Mugen Front Strut Bar
Mugen Rear Strut Bar
Spoon Lower Rear Tie Bar
GSR Disk Break Front and Rear
SI 2001 MBC
Brembo sloted and driller rotor front
Mugen Black&Red RNRs will Prelli 7000s - But ill be getting some forged rims and Flakens soon!!

Heh, I like that first picture, looks like the instructor is holding on for dear life!
Congrats on getting out there, now watch out - it's addictive!

first... you were in the wrong state... you were in Nevada, not Arizona.
second... it's Pahrump (don't worry, not even the locals can spell it right).
The track is called either "Pahrump" or "Spring Mountain Motorsports Park (SMMP)".
Nice track, lousy passing areas (it's a school), and not the best run-off area.
The instructor looks like Dave Roberts. He's a really nice guy (he welded my cage) and has the joy of beating on Zo6s all day long at the track.
What kind of lap times were you running?

Was that org. called Racer Factory? I heard +ve things about them, what's your opinion? Organized? Do they keep wacky driving in check? I'm thinking about doing a track event with them sometime this year.

yes. my friend is one of the instructors for the Racer Factory Group. I thougt they did a great job! The only wacky driving that happened was a few of the intermediate driver went off the track a few times. but they did a great job keeping all the beginers me being one of them.

sucks for passing though.
well, there's a back straight that's said to be 1/8mi... pretty wide.
then, the lower section has a bunch of wide turns (bottom right of photo) and allows for some passing.
the upper portion... very very tough to pass there.

Dave Roberts is a great instructor.
I've had the pleasure of being a student in his class twice at Bragg-Smith (where there are two Daves and he was known as "Evil Dave"). If you ever get the chance to take a class with him or any of the crew at SMMP, go for it.

If you look at the first pic closely, it looks like the driver is smoking a cigarette.
Probably just biting his lip and thinking "I think I can, I think I can."

hahaaa, cool pics and that track looks like SO MUCH FUN to those of us buried in snow up here in the Northeast.
trav, your setup looks pretty wicked, hows the B16B on a roadcourse? Is there anything you want to change on your car as it stands now?
